Queen of Hearts CPR is affiliated with American Heart Association and HSI (Health Safety Institute) and teach classes according to their standards of excellence. In addition to our BLS courses, we also offer BLS skills only, ACLS and PALS skills only, as well as Babysitting/childcare courses.  Our ASHI (HSI) courses are for non-medical clients who need First Aid/CPR/AED Course Training in the workplace.  Call (512) 755-5531 to obtain course pricing and scheduling. We will travel to your location for a minimum of 6 students needing training.

BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS)

The AHA’s BLS course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

Who should take this course?

The AHA’s BLS Course is designed for healthcare professionals, college students in the healthcare field, and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings.

What does this course teach?

  • High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants

  • The AHA Chain of Survival, specifically the BLS components

  • Important early use of an AED

  • Effective ventilations using a barrier device

  • Importance of teams in multi-rescuer resuscitation and performance as an effective team member during multi-rescuer CPR

  • Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants

 

Course Completion Card

 

Upon completion of all course requirements, participants receive a BLS Provider Course Completion Card which is valid for two years.

BLS RENEWAL
The course is for experienced healthcare providers to RENEW Basic Life Support (BLS) skills and obtain AHA certification.  This class must be obtained PRIOR to the expiration of the student’s current BLS certification.

It is recommended for: All Physicians, all medical personnel, first responders, etc.  If you have been certified within the past two years, please select this class. To be eligible for the BLS Renewal class, you MUST bring a copy of your current AHA certification to class.

Get re-certified with the American Heart Association’s class for Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.  This is an instructor taught course that covers both single and team rescues providing BLS. 

Upon successful completion of this class, the student will be issued an American Heart Association BLS eCard that is effective for a two-year renewal period. 

HEARTCODE® BLS - SKILLS ONLY

HeartCode BLS is the American Heart Association’s blended delivery method for the BLS course. AHA’s blended learning delivery system is a combination of eLearning (online) followed by hands on session.

It is recommended for: All Physicians, all medical personnel, first responders, etc. 

After completion of the blended learning class and hands-on skills session, the student will be issued their BLS eCard effective for two years. 

  1. Visit OnlineAHA.org and complete the HeartCode® BLS course in its entirety at your own pace. 

  2. Print and save your completion certificate.

  3. Bring your certificate to your Skills Check-Off appointment and complete the course. 

  4. Schedule your Skills and check-off through our scheduler.

  5. You will receive your Heartsaver® BLS certification card.

ACLS SKILLS

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is available in two different training methods – blended learning and classroom training. All ACLS course options teach the same AHA science-based skills and result in the same AHA ACLS Course Completion Card.

It is recommended for: All Physicians, all medical personnel, first responders, etc. 

After completion of the blended learning class and hands-on skills session, the student will be issued their eCard effective for two years. 

  1. Visit OnlineAHA.org and complete the ACLS course in its entirety at your own pace.

  2. Print and save your completion certificate.

  3. Bring your certificate to your Skills Check-Off appointment and complete the course.

  4. Schedule your Skills and check-off through our scheduler.

  5. You will receive your Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)certification card.

INSTRUCTOR TRAINING COURSE

Queen of Hearts CPR is always seeking professionals to conduct training in first aid, CPR, AED, and advanced cardiovascular care. If you are passionate about saving lives, motivated to facilitate learning, feel comfortable in group settings, and find it easy to make complex concepts understandable to others, you may be a perfect candidate. Take this course to learn how to become a certified instructor.

Heartsaver® First Aid/CPR/AED Training

The AHA’s Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course trains participants to provide first aid, CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

Who should take this course?

The AHA’s Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Course is designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for their job, regulatory (e.g., OSHA), or other requirements, or anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting.

What does this course teach?

  • First aid basics

  • Medical emergencies

  • Injury emergencies

  • Environmental emergencies

  • Preventing illness and injury

  • Adult CPR and AED use

  • Opioid-associated life-threatening emergencies

  • Optional modules in Child CPR AED and Infant CPR

PALS SKILLS

 Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is available in two different training methods – blended learning and classroom training. All PALS course options teach the same AHA science-based skills and result in the same AHA PALS Course Completion Card.

It is recommended for: All Physicians, all medical personnel, first responders, etc. 

After completion of the blended learning class and hands-on skills session, the student will be issued their eCard effective for two years.

  2. Print and save your completion certificate.

BABYSITTER/CHILDCARE COURSE

This course will prepare you to become one of the most capable, trusted and in-demand sitters in your neighborhood. Start your babysitting business on the right foot and learn how to be a safe, professional and reliable sitter. You can also opt to get certified in First Aid and CPR/AED, and add even more value to your clients. With online and classroom options for all ages, Queen of Hearts CPR child care training that's not only convenient, but valuable to you and the families you care for.

 

Babysitting and child care courses can help you provide quality care to children of all ages. Developed by experts in the industry, our online and in-person courses are available to children based on maturity and beyond, and include topics such as choosing age-appropriate activities, basic child care, like bottle feeding, child behavior, leadership, professionalism, safety, starting a babysitting business, and more.

FRIENDS & FAMILY® CPR COURSE

This program teaches the lifesaving skills of adult Hands-Only™ CPR, child CPR with breaths, adult and child AED use, infant CPR and relief of choking in an adult, child or infant. Anyone, an AHA Instructor or a member of the community serving as a facilitator, can lead the course by following the Facilitator Guide and playing the skills practice DVD. The research-proven practice-while-watching technique provides students with the most hands-on CPR practice time possible while they watch skills performed accurately on the DVD.

For the general public; not appropriate for healthcare providers
